Volunteer Opportunities
CURRENTLY THERE IS A GREAT NEED FOR TUTORS IN WATERTOWN, JEFFERSON, FORT ATKINSON AND WATERLOO.
Residents from all over Jefferson County volunteer with adults and families at JCLC in a number of different ways and for a variety of time commitments. As a JCLC volunteer you could:
Teach Reading and Writing to adults who are native English speakers
Prepare adult learners for the GED
Teach English to adult speakers of other languages
Prepare learners for the US Citizenship Test
Assist with the Family Literacy Program - reading to children, helping with crafts, or assisting jail inmates record a book on tape for their child
Volunteering at JCLC can be a very rewarding experience. It benefits the individuals, families, the community and yourself!

Beginby attending a one hour Orientation Session to learn more. Those who wish to become tutors are then required to complete 4 hours of training, observe existing programs, and meet with the Director of Education.
All materials are provided, and ongoing support is provided to volunteers.
